Dusting off the keyboard...AGAIN!
I haven't MEANT to neglect my precious blog! Truly, I love being here, writing, sharing, HEARING FROM MY FRIENDS. So what's been my excuse?
I've been BUSY! That's CAPITAL BUSY busy! And I'm loving every second of it! I'm trying to decide if I should write this post starting today and moving back, or what! Anyway, hang on, because these are quick fly by mentions of recent events. SOME DAY I'm going to finish my post on how God truly spoke to my heart the other day, but first, I have to get all this googly boogly out of my fingers HA HA
So, today. My nephew has been named Boys High School Athlete of the Week (see story: www.examiner.net/sports/x506585317/Examiner-Boys-High-School-Athlete-of-the-Week-Trace-Goade). Ignore the SENIOR setting; my neph is a Junior. This honor comes on the heels of an emotional homecoming game last Friday, where TWO news stories were published about my Trace man! (First story: www.examiner.net/sports/x436983949/Emotional-victory and second story: www.examiner.net/sports/x506585321/Goade-gives-inspirational-performance). I am PROUD of this amazing young man. Not only is he fabulous on the field, but this kid is a GREAT kid. The first game we went to this year, he came out after the game to talk to his Aunt and Uncle and cousins. Last game we went to, as he was heading to the bus, he gave ME and his Mom high 5s. He's just a GOOD boy.
Okay, then I've been working like a crazy woman. Whenever I want to work, there's a job waiting for me. I'm actually able to be selective. I've found I LOVE teaching the secondary students, and I really enjoy special ed. Teachers are actually requesting me! Tomorrow, I'll be working for a teacher who grabbed me about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Last week, I worked 3 days for one teacher request, and the 4th day for a DIFFERENT teacher's request. I am thoroughly enjoying what I do. And I love that I get to see my kids when they come home from school. I'll be honest. I don't know how we're going to handle it this winter when the streets are bad. There really isn't a good way for the boys to get to school in snowy, icy weather. However, I fully believe this is where God wants me now, so I trust he is going to find transportation for the boys when they need it.
Dance is back in full session. I will have parade video up here as soon as I can get it on and edited. They were ADORABLE. Matt is dancing Praise in Motion at church, and I'm helping with coordinating it this year, which has been a BLAST. I have tap tonight, and adult on Thursdays. Luckily, one of my friends is taking tap with me (THANKS, STEPHANIE!).
Em's X Country season is winding down. She's finally hitting her stride. Unfortunately, she bummed her knee at Monday's meet, but she's been icing and wrapping it, so it should be better quickly. She's excited about being in the Homecoming parade Friday.
Now the biggest news. We've moved churches! We loved our old church, but there just was no growth in the youth department, and no effort to change that. I fully believe that our youth stay stronger in school when they have a firm group of friends with similar values. She didn't have that at the old church. At our new church, she has tons of friends. We seriously don't see her once we hit the doors on Sunday mornings! She also WANTS to go back Wednesday nights, and even goes stinky if her X Country meet runs late! The boys are also surrounded by friends. We're starting to take up ministries. I'm doing Praise in Motion, and Darren's considering working on the local chainsaw ministry. Em and I are also VERY interested in missions. There are phenomenal missions with this church, and we are feeling particularly led to two of them.
So, how's your life? Drop me a line and let's catch up for a while!

Dang girl, it's aobut time! I wasn't able to pull up the link, but major congrats to your nephew! Sports are huge in our family and I know what a big deal all those things are.........you are a proud Auntie for sure!
Yay yay yay on all the subbing you are doing and you really seem to be enjoying! Are you considering any long range plans to becoming certified to teach full time? You seem very well suited for this, and being happy in your work is such a great feeling.
I am happy you have found a new church home. I know those are tough choices. Our teen girls were able to find a youth group they enjoy and yet it's not our exact Faith, so they attend and love it and we still have our church home. It's all worked out for us.
I hope you'll keep blogging and that you will return to a little message board we love............you're always missed when you are away.
