I have always enjoyed tea.  My little girl tea parties always consisted of REAL tea.  My Grandma Velma and Grandpa Bud always had a pitcher of iced tea waiting for me.  When I go to restaurants, my standard order is unsweet iced tea. My favorite part of dining at a Japanese restaurant is the little pot of tea. When I road trip, I always have iced tea by my side. Tea is my comforter, my elixir, my guide.

During the pandemic, we've all needed to find or rediscover our comforts.  I have returned to tea.  To be honest, I never left tea.  Now, though, my day isn't complete without it.  I'm rediscovering to my Teatime With Valerie blog, which went dormant several years ago.  I am searching for my archives, and when I find them, I will intersperse them throughout the blog.  In the meantime, I am starting from scratch.

So what has been my motivation?  I'm a Ruby Ribbon consultant, and as part of building my business, I joined a consultant group.  In that group, I met a wonderfully dynamic lady whose company is Sipology.  Sipology is a Canadian based business that is all about fun and healthy tea.  I ordered from her, and I fell in love...not just with the unbelievably delicious tea, but also with the concept of the company.  I thought about it for a couple of months, I fell more in love with the concept and the product, and I took the leap!  As of January 22, 2121, I'm a Sipologist!  You can learn more about Sipology here, and please feel free to ask me about tea.  If I don't know the answer, I will find it for you.

This blog focuses on recipes, party ideas, blends, history, and why tea does what it does.  I hope to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try new things.

For my faithful former followers, thank you for returning.  For my new friends, welcome aboard!

In 1972 as a 3 year old newly diagnosed diabetic, I couldn't drink soda pop. So my Grandma would let me drink tea instead.  Little did she know she was introducing me to a lifelong love of something energizing, calming, invigorating, soothing...perfect.
